Commercial Space for Community
At the heart of the Williams & Russell site will be a 26,000 square foot Cross-Laminated Timber building—The Community Business Hub. This space will uplift Portland's entrepreneurs from historically Black communities by offering affordable retail, office, and collaborative space to grow, connect, and thrive. Opening in Early 2028, the Hub represents community-controlled commercial buildings designed by and for the community.

Why It Matters:
This site once thrived as the center for business, culture, and community life in historically Black Portland. When urban renewal destroyed this district in the 1970s, it eliminated business networks and economic opportunities. This hub restores what was taken while creating space where community entrepreneurs can thrive and build lasting wealth.
